Landscapes: Volume One, by Dustin Farrell
A year’s compilation of my time lapse work. All shot on the Canon 5D2 and processed in Adobe After Effects. The majority of the shots are in my beautiful home state of Arizona. Goblin Valley State Park and Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah also make an appearance.

Every clip is a RAW image sequence (5616 x 3744) that I rendered out as a 1080P 23.976fps Quick Time movie. The motion control is achieved using servo motors.

Vincitore della sezione documentari e primo vincitore assoluto del Vimeo Festival è Last minutes with Oden, diretto da Eliot Rausch. Si tratta di un cortometraggio che si inserisce all’interno del progetto 8 vite: una serie di otto documentari attraverso i quali il regista vuole catturare la crudezza dell’esperienza umana. Il documentario racconta la storia di un uomo, Jason Wood, che deve dire addio per sempre al suo migliore amico: il cane Oden, malato di cancro ed arrivato ad una situazione tale da spingere a scegliere la soluzione dell”eutanasia. Le riflessioni del protagonista, voce narrante del video, sono espresse come un fiume in piena. La drammaticità è enfatizzata dal pezzo Big red machine di Justin Vernon e Aaron Dessner, dai rallenty e dai primi piani. Uno svolgimento struggente ed altamente emotivo che conferisce al corto un tono poetico, rafforzato da una fotografia fredda e da un sapiente uso della profondità di campo.
